Why Sound Relief?
Exceptional Care – Without Exception
Sound Relief Hearing Center provides the gold standard of care in the hearing health industry. Our team of doctors strive to help people conquer their tinnitus, improve their hearing ability, and reconnect with loved ones through better hearing. Your treatment success and satisfaction is our top priority, and we are certain that you will not be disappointed. We are dedicated to being the best at what we do, and we believe it is our mission to use our knowledge and skills to improve the lives of others. Every day, every appointment, and with every patient, we offer exceptional care – without exception.
Specializing in Tinnitus Treatment
Sound Relief exists to change the misconception that nothing can be done to treat ringing in the ears. Since no two cases of tinnitus are the same, we will find the right tinnitus treatment for each individual patient. We only offer treatments that have been clinically proven to help the majority of patients that use them. If you suffer from tinnitus, you should definitely call us for help.
Following a comprehensive hearing test, our audiologists will be able to identify the specific cause of your tinnitus symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan that works for you. Whether you’re experiencing tinnitus as a result of age-related hearing loss, repeated exposure to loud noises, ototoxic medications with side effects that cause hearing damage, or even pulsatile tinnitus, our team can find a solution to improve the quality of your hearing.
Treating Hyperacusis
Hyperacusis is a hearing disorder that causes people to hear everyday sounds at such high levels that the experience can lead to anxiety, stress, or even physical pain. While far more rare than tinnitus, hyperacusis is a problematic health condition that can drastically impair the quality of life for those living with it. This increased sensitivity to sound waves can make even the most common noises, like an air conditioner or a conversation, challenging to experience.
Your Goals Are Sound Relief Goals
We promise to work closely with you to discover where you are having the most difficulty communicating. Then, we will collaborate with you to determine the best solution to increase your ability to hear and understand in the situations you describe. If that solution includes hearing aids or one of our tinnitus sound therapy options, then we will recommend the technology that:
- Works best for your level of hearing loss.
- Complements your lifestyle.
- Fits within your budget.
Complete Independence
Why should you care if your audiologist’s practice is independent? Almost 75 percent of hearing care practices are owned by a hearing aid manufacturer. In addition, many others purchase their hearing aids through buying groups, where they commit to purchasing preset quantities from a limited number of manufacturers. Both of these scenarios present a significant problem: the audiologist faces a conflict of interest between their patients and the manufacturer or buying group.
At Sound Relief Hearing Center, our audiologists are only focused on the best interest of the patient. We are family-owned and operated, and we don’t purchase our hearing aids through buying groups. Because we have the freedom and expertise to fit the best hearing and tinnitus technology available, we can ensure that our patients enjoy an optimal experience and outcome. We would not be able to do this if we were not independent.
Decades of Experience
Dr. Julie Prutsman’s grandfather started the family in hearing health care in the 1950’s, and three generations have carried on this legacy. With over 120 years of collective clinical experience, Dr. Julie and her team of doctors honor this family tradition through exceptional, compassionate care. Our patients benefit most from our vast combined knowledge of hearing loss, tinnitus, and hyperacusis.
State-of-the-Art Technology
Sound Relief Hearing Center only works with manufacturers that offer the best treatments for tinnitus, hearing loss, and hyperacusis. Why? Our commitment is to provide our patients with the best technology and value available. As technology evolves, our selection of vendors may change. Whatever happens, you can rest assured that our doctors will provide you with the most advanced and effective technology available.
Expertise in Tinnitus Treatment
When doctors say that nothing can be done about your tinnitus, that’s not the whole truth. What they mean to say is that they can’t do anything to help. At Sound Relief Hearing Center, we have helped thousands of people living with tinnitus. In addition to the years of education focused on the auditory system, each of our doctors has individually trained with Dr. Julie. We understand why this frustrating condition occurs, and the best way to treat it. Using only FDA-approved tinnitus treatments, we provide our patients with life-changing results. In fact, we help more people find relief from tinnitus than any other audiology practice in Colorado. Patients visit our practice from across the United States and around the world, seeking relief from this condition.
Exact Fittings and Programming
Even the most expensive, cutting-edge devices for tinnitus and hearing loss can provide sub-par results if you select the wrong type or style for your specific situation. Our hearing professionals will use their skills and knowledge to fit and program these devices so that they are effective and comfortable for you. We will use the results of your hearing tests as well as tinnitus pitch and loudness matching to further personalize the technology. To ensure that you experience the greatest possible benefit from your treatment, we only select the most advanced fitting methods and equipment.
Local Ownership and an Active Presence in the Community
We love the communities we serve and are always looking for ways to give back. Our team is involved with many charities and groups, both related and unrelated to the hearing profession. Please feel free to contact us if you know of any groups needing speakers, hearing screenings, volunteers, or donations. We would also love to hear from you if you have an opportunity for us to participate in an upcoming event or if you wish to take part in a fundraising event. Please call Patrick at (303) 359-2441.
Valuable Follow-Up Care
Your relationship with us will continue well beyond your initial appointment and fitting. We provide valuable follow-up care, including ongoing office visits, to ensure that you follow the prescribed tinnitus protocol and/or to check that your hearing aids are working as they should. Although we will teach you how to care for your hearing devices at your initial fitting, please feel free to visit us any time you like for a complete and thorough cleaning of your hearing instruments. This will keep your devices performing like new. At a minimum, we recommend that you schedule a follow-up visit at Sound Relief Hearing Center every four months so that our hearing professionals can check your ears and hearing devices for wax build-up.
A Focus on Education
Our top priority is your success with the tinnitus treatment and/or hearing solution we recommend, and we believe that an educated patient will see the most benefit from our tinnitus and hearing services. Fully understanding both your auditory issues and the solutions available can positively impact your results. For this reason, we spend as much time explaining your hearing condition and the treatment options we recommend as we do evaluating and testing your hearing health. Please don’t hesitate to ask our hearing professionals any questions you have about tinnitus, hearing loss, hyperacusis, or treatment options – we are always happy to share our wealth of knowledge.
Comprehensive Testing
We conduct comprehensive testing to ensure that we truly understand your unique level and type of tinnitus and/or hearing loss. In addition to a physical evaluation of the ears, we perform several types of hearing tests to learn about your auditory health. Our diagnostic examinations are accurate and precise. The valuable results of these hearing tests allow us to recommend personalized solutions to help you manage your tinnitus and/or optimize your ability to hear.
