Dr. Abby McMahon
Growing up in Fort Collins, Colorado, I developed an early passion for the world of hearing and sound. My academic journey led me to the University of Kansas, where I embraced the remarkable undergraduate program in Speech and Hearing Sciences.
Following a year of adventure as a ski bum in Vail, I pursued my doctorate at Northeastern University in Boston, fulfilling my ambition of becoming an audiologist: a path I set my heart on in high school. My brothers often chuckle, remarking how rare it is to know your calling so young, pursue it, and love it.
As I envisioned raising my two sons in Fort Collins, I sought a practice resonating with my values. Discovering Sound Relief was a perfect match—it aligns with my belief in prioritizing patient care without the influence of manufacturer ownership. I take immense pride in working for an independent small business where making the right decisions for patients is paramount.
On a daily basis, my role involves treating patients to enhance their hearing and alleviate tinnitus symptoms. Humorously, I find myself frequently battling technology, whether it be a stubborn hearing aid, computer, or cell phone!
Being an audiologist is truly fulfilling. I take great delight in using advanced technology to emulate a damaged complex body part, ultimately enhancing patients' lives.
Outside the clinic, life is joyfully chaotic with family adventures. We love embarking on road trips and exploring America's stunning landscapes. In my downtime, I cherish gardening, tackling jigsaw puzzles, hiking, delving into arts and crafts, cross-stitching, and volunteering at my kids' school.
