Dr. Leah Mitchell
I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, where I attended high school as a proud Kimberly Papermaker, complete with our unique wasp mascot. My academic journey began at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where I completed my undergraduate degree. I then pursued a master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. My quest for knowledge led me to Colorado, where I worked while earning my doctorate in Audiology from what is now Salus University.
I stumbled into audiology by chance while taking classes to earn a degree in Communicative Disorders, aiming to become a Speech and Language Pathologist. An unexpected love for audiology sparked when I was inspired by a passionate professor whose enthusiasm for the field was truly contagious.
In my role, my number one responsibility is patient care. This involves listening attentively to understand what each patient is experiencing, identifying their goals, and devising a plan to help them achieve those goals. Additionally, I collaborate with my colleagues to ensure our office operates smoothly and efficiently.
What I love most about my work is the opportunity to offer hope to patients struggling with tinnitus or help individuals with hearing loss remain connected with their loved ones through improved hearing.
Outside of the office, I cherish spending time with family and friends, whether it’s relaxing or engaging in outdoor activities. I enjoy camping, hiking, biking, paddleboarding, playing games or sports, or simply unwinding on a patio. A good puzzle, book, or movie also sounds like a perfect way to unwind during my weekends.
