Elizabeth Prutsman

Elizabeth is Patrick’s little sister and has worked with Sound Relief since 2016. Elizabeth graduated with Honors from Old Dominion University with a BA in English Literature, and she has over 20 years of customer care experience.

She is also an enthusiastic volunteer. She started coaching youth basketball in college and still does with her own children’s teams. She advocates for local animal rescues and volunteers to exercise dogs at the SPCA.

Her most important role is Mom to her kids, Wyatt and Leila; and Person to her dog Roosevelt. Her three favorite things are time with her family, wI grew up in Virginia Beach and went to Norfolk Academy for high school. I then graduated cum laude from Old Dominion University with a BA in English Literature.

Although I didn’t initially look to join hearing healthcare, it was listening to calls that drew me in. Before the Westminster office opened, Patrick Prutsman (no relation—just kidding) asked me to listen to calls part time. My background in customer service tuned me into people's tones, and I became deeply moved by the experiences I heard.

One call that left a lasting impression on me was from a woman whose husband, a firefighter, suffered from tinnitus so severe it sounded like cicadas. And the father who called about his daughter with misophonia, whose life was disrupted by her inability to tolerate the sound of chewing. These stories about how our doctors could help patients and families fueled my passion to be part of this team.

Currently, I work as an Administrative Assistant in Accounting, where I assist Amy with QuickBooks and delve into investigative tasks. I enjoy ensuring everything runs smoothly on the financial side of things.

I've been a part of the Sound Relief family since January 2016. Though I still listen to calls occasionally, my main focus now is on tasks like checking vendor invoices against inventory and managing Lyric subscriptions. While this might not sound thrilling, I truly enjoy what I do, especially being surrounded by my wonderful coworkers. I've been lucky to work alongside many of them for several years now. They're not just colleagues; they have become dear friends.

Outside of work, my greatest joys are my kids and watching them play basketball. I love spending time with my dog, Penny, whether we're running, walking, or playing games in the backyard. I also enjoy running and playing sports, and though time is scarce, I wish I could return to swimming someday. alks with Roosevelt, and taking a break with a run; the longer the better.

If you could have dinner with one person, who would you choose?

This question makes me think of Green Eggs and Ham...  “in a box, with a fox.” I don't know who I'd want to have dinner with—maybe Dr. Seuss since his book came to mind?
